As the CBSE Class 10, 12 counselling has been happening, students can reach out to the experts any day from 8 am to 10 pm until March 30.
The Central Board of Secondary's 23rd Edition of pre-exam psychological counselling commenced on Saturday, February 01, 2020. The session has especially been organised for students taking Class 10 and 12 board exams this year. The counselling will continue up till March 30, 2020, which would be right ahead of the exams. Class 10 and 12 board exams will begin on February 15. Class 10 will end on March 20 and Class 12 exams will end on March 30. "This special facility is designed as part of the board's outreach programme which caters to the heterogeneous students' and parent's population and vast geographical network of schools in and outside India," said the notification released by the CBSE. As many as 95 principals and trained counsellors from CBSE schools in India and abroad have been participating in this project. Students can avail this service from 8 am to 10 pm on all days.
Programmes under psychological counselling
IVRS: Interactive Voice Response Service is made free of cost at Toll-free number 1800 11 8004. The service was introduced last year by the CBSE. Students can have access to pre-recorded useful information on tackling board exams including tips for better preparation, time and stress management, important contact details of CBSE offices, FAQ's etc.
How does IVRS work?
The CBSE has connected 95 Principals and trained counsellors from within CBSE affiliated schools located in and outside India to answers the queries raised by students. "It is a voluntary, free of cost service provided by the Board from 8 am to 10 pm on all days. The participating Principals/Counsellors will be available in India and nine other countries such as:
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Sultanate of Oman
Queries raised by students will be answered by CBSE experts and published in the national newspapers during February.
CBSE has put the comprehensive audio-visual presentation under the title 'Knowing Children Better' at www.cbse.nic.in by clicking on the tab 'Counselling' and watch videos on a number of topics like Aggression, Internet Addiction Disorder, Depression, Exam Anxiety, Specific Learning Disability, Substance Use Disorder, Life Skills.
