Sampoorna Agriculture College Courses Eligibility

A Candidate who is qualified as follows is eligible for admission A candidate who has successfully completed 10+2 or equivalent with PCB/CBZ combination. A candidate who has completed Diploma in Agriculture/Horticulture or equivalent of at least 2year’s duration after 10th year of schooling. A candidate who has successfully completed 10+2 or equivalent with PCM combination is also eligible provided such a candidate completes the prescribed remedial courses in Biology during the 1st year of B.Sc. (Hons.) program. The successful completion of remedial courses is mandatory and unless a candidate completes this mandatory requirement, he/she cannot enter into 3rd semester. A candidate who has completed a Diploma in Technical/ Engineering/ Pathological/ Clinical/ Paramedical courses of a minimum of 2 year’s duration subjected to 10 years of schooling are also eligible provided such a candidate completes the prescribed remedial courses in Biology during the 1st year of B.Sc. (Hons.) program. The successful completion of remedial courses is mandatory and unless a candidate completes this mandatory requirement, he/she cannot enter into 3rdsemester. Candidates who have successfully completed 1st year 2nd year of B.Sc. Agricultural/Horticulture from UGC recognized Universities (within Karnataka) are eligible for admission to 2nd year and 3rd year of the course respectively subject to the approval from the University after obtaining No Objection from the parent university. Candidates who have successfully completed 1st year and 2nd year of B.Sc. Agricultural Science/Horticultural Science from UGC recognized Universities (outside Karnataka) are also eligible for admission to 2nd year and 3rd year of the course respectively subject to the approval by the equivalence committee and authorities of University of Mysore.

Bachelor of Science B.Sc.(Hons.) in Agriculture covers topics such as agriculture science, use of modern scientific equipment and techniques in agriculture, land surveying, soil science, water resource management, animal, and poultry management, basics of biotechnology,microbiology ,biochemistry ,computers and bio informatics etc. The main aim of this program is to train the student for improving the productivity of agriculture, proper management, and storage of produced products, prevention of exploitation of resources, and develop new ways for better yielding of agriculture through research. As India is a land of Agriculture there is ample scope in a career for students graduates from agriculture in Government as well as private bodies such as Banks,pesticide,seed companies,fertilizer companies,aquatic farming,organic farming,Precision farming,integrated and group farming companies,advanced agro tech companies,many civil service etc. An agriculture graduate can pursue higher studies too and enroll himself in Postgraduate and Research program.
